Employee Assistance Program in Sydney

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Built for People Who Care Deeply About Their Work

At Sentient Professional Wellbeing, we believe the people who give the most deserve the best possible support. Our EAP is designed for organisations that want more than a helpline — a genuinely holistic, always-on wellbeing ecosystem that supports your people before, between and after sessions are over.

Whether your team works in animal welfare, the broader caring sector, or any high-stakes environment, we bring industry-specific expertise, deep clinical skill, and a truly integrated approach that closes the gaps traditional EAPs leave open. Before sessions, we maintain visibility into how your team is coping, enabling genuine early intervention before risks escalate. Between sessions, continual contact accelerates improvement. And once therapy is over, ongoing conversations through the app keep what your people have learned active and front of mind, supporting relapse prevention long after formal sessions have ended.

This is what really makes us different:

24/7 support outside of sessions — care that works before, between and after sessions are over.

Holistic Support - Psychology and coaching integrated, one provider, no gaps
Psychosocial risk monitoring with tailored intervention programs — the app identifies risks early, and our clinicians step in with consultation and bespoke support where needed

What makes SPW different?

A different kind of EAP

Most employee assistance programs are reactive by design, generic in delivery, and rely on employees to seek help themselves, which is why only around 5% actually use them.

Sentient Professional Wellbeing EAP is built differently, combining registered psychology, executive coaching and first-of-its-kind continuous care technology to deliver proactive, personalised support for your people and your organisation.

  • Proactive outreach — employees do not need to identify their own distress and make the first move

  • Early detection — continuous check-ins surface issues before they reach a crisis point

  • No cold starts — every therapist enters the conversation with context and a personal trajectory already established

  • Sector-specific support — tailored for animal welfare and purpose-led organisations, not a one-size-fits-all approach

Always-on support

1

Continuous care — support between sessions, not just in them

We are the first EAP provider in the world to integrate a clinically-informed wellbeing app into our care model, shifting care from episodic to continuous.

Through continuous check-ins and conversations when an employee is not in session, greater visibility empowers them to take action early, whether that means simple early-intervention strategies suggested by the app or escalation into therapist support before problems become more entrenched. When issues are caught early, they are easier to address. And when escalation is needed, the therapist is not starting from scratch. Meaningful information gathered through the app means they enter the conversation with richer context, making intervention more informed and efficient from the outset.

Between sessions, continuous support leads to enhanced progress by encouraging greater skill rehearsal and engagement. After therapy is over, ongoing conversations through the app keep what employees have learned active and at the forefront of their minds, supporting relapse prevention long after formal sessions have ended.

  • Early intervention - through continuous check-ins, empowering employees to act before issues become entrenched.

  • Clear escalation - into therapist support when simple strategies are not enough.

  • Between-session support -  that enhances progress, grounded in evidence around skill rehearsal and ongoing engagement.

  • Built-in relapse prevention - that keeps skills active long after therapy ends.

Compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, moral injury — these are not abstract concepts to us. Sentient has built its practice around the unique psychological challenges faced by people in animal care and broader purpose-led sectors. Your employees don't have to explain their world to us. We already understand it — and that makes our support more relevant, more resonant, and more effective.

Wellbeing and performance are rarely separate issues. That's why our EAP integrates registered psychological therapy with executive and workplace coaching, addressing the emotional, practical, and systemic dimensions of every challenge your people face. We also take a systemic view of your organisation — using our wellbeing technology to identify psychosocial risks early, giving you the insight to act before small problems become large ones.

Who We Help

Who Sentient Professional Wellbeing helps

We help professionals and organisations who strive to make the world a better place, particularly those working to improve the welfare of animals, people, and the planet. If your work is driven by purpose rather than profit alone, we were built for you

Animal Welfare Organisations

The people who dedicate their lives to the welfare of animals carry a weight that most workplaces do not fully understand. Compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma and moral injury are not abstract concepts in this sector , they are occupational realities. Sentient Professional Wellbeing was built with this community at its core, and it remains the heart of what we do.

  • Veterinary practices and animal hospitals

  • Animal welfare organisations and shelters

  • Wildlife care and conservation groups

  • Plant-based and cruelty-free organisations

  • Animal advocacy and rights groups

People-Focused Organisations

Caring professions ask their people to give deeply of themselves, often under significant pressure and with limited recognition of the personal toll that takes.

We care for the carers; those whose work centres on the health, well-being, and development of others,  with the same standard of care they extend to the people they serve.

  • Medical and allied health professionals

  • Psychologists, counsellors and mental health practitioners

  • Social workers and community services professionals

  • Disability and aged care providers

  • Purpose-led organisations focused on human welfare

Planet-Focused Organisations

Working to protect the planet is meaningful, urgent and often emotionally demanding. The people in environmental and sustainability sectors carry a particular kind of pressure;  the weight of scale, urgency and systemic challenge that can quietly compound over time. We support these organisations with the same depth of care we bring to every sector we serve.

  • Environmental and conservation organisations

  • Sustainability-focused businesses and social enterprises

  • Climate advocacy and policy groups

  • Renewable energy and clean technology organisations

  • Ethical and impact-driven businesses
